DEPUTY Secretary General of the Islamic Association of Ningxia, Hei Fuli, said that Muslims in the country continues to grow. Of the approximately 1.3 billion Chinese, the Moslems around 30 million people. Half of them are descendants Hui living in Ningxia Province. In the last 10 years the Chinese government has built more than 300 mosques.
Besides in Ningxia Province, China Muslims scattered in Xinjiang Uyghur, Qinghai and Yunnan. According to historical records, Caliph Uthman ibn Affan sent Sa'd bin Abi Waqash 651 years to spread Islam in China.
At that time led the Tang Dynasty China. Saad friend later founded the first mosque in China. He died and was buried in Guangzhou. Until now his tomb visited by many pilgrims.
In other provinces such as Jianxi, very minority Muslims. It is not surprising in a province this year's Hajj has only two people.
''Before they leave our understanding of the science of religion Arm of the pilgrimage (hajj rituals-ed),''said Mohammad Musa.
In the capital city of Nanchang City Jianxi there are only two mosques. Do not imagine such a large mosques Indonesia. When I asked where the mosque for Friday prayers, almost all of them answered bu zhi dao (not know) while shaking his head.
Apparently they refer to as the Qing Zhen Mosque Si (Temple of the Sacred Right).
We found it in a mosque in the region nyelempit very shabby.
''This is where we develop the message of Islam,''said Mohammad Musa, head of Chinese Muslims in the city of Nanchang.
Why the Muslim pilgrimage departing China on average is old? Ahmad, 60, who will travel this year to answer a lot of factors. The young ones, though they are Muslims, kept busy working.
''Leaves of office there own rules of government. In addition to busy working, they are part of college,''he said.
Stranger
Although the Chinese government did not interfere hajj affairs, those aged 70 years and over is not recommended to leave.
''What if our students enroll Indonesia next year pilgrimage through China?''I said to Moses.
According to him almost impossible. Because foreigners are different rules imposed by the natives of China. ''If worship Umrah may still be, but if the pilgrim is difficult,''said the man who always wore the robe and turban.
From the look on his face, he seemed delighted to welcome students, overwhelmingly Muslim Indonesia. Moses repeatedly said huanying in Chinese and Ahlan wamarhaban in Arabic which means welcome.
Interestingly, almost all male worshipers at the mosque led by Mohammad Musa wore a white skullcap like a pilgrimage.
When told that there is a guest of the Great Mosque of Central Java (MAJT) Semarang, Indonesia, without command they immediately greeted us clustered whose number nine.
