Burning the Veil to prosecute Saleh Backward

A number of Yemeni women daring to burn the veil in protest demanding President Ali Abdullah Saleh resign, yesterday. Thousands of women gathered in the capital Sanaa to burn piles of veils and scarves to protest atrocities against Saleh's anti-government protesters.

The action was highly symbolic in a conservative Muslim country, where the women wear a veil to cover her face and body. And it is the first action carried out in nine-month rally in Yemen.
